I replaced the Power and Earth wire with bigger wire yesterday.
I fixed the lights dimming a little bit but I'm still getting a crackle when the sounds right down through the 2 subs...
Could it be the RCA's? Or the Amp or Head unit? The RCA's are running off the rear out's is this right? there are also front outs should I put one in rear and one in front? The amp's only a 200watt two being bridged by the two subs, but it was fine last year... I know, I know not enough watts for the two 600watt subs lol but it was fine before. Going to get a bigger amp soon...
It goes fine when I turn it up (well too much she cuts out but we all know why lol) it's just when the volume is really low I can hear a slight crackle and popping...
Not an expert here, so hopefully one of the other guys can help out a bit more. I can just say that:
The crackling that you can hear is noise that is being amplified by the amplifier. It may be coming into the amplifier input and being amplified or may be created by the amplifier and amplified. I would try a couple of things.
Disconnecting the input (RCA's) from the amplifier and see if the problem goes away. Check that all your power connections are good solid tight connections. Try turning the gain down on the amp to see if that makes any difference.
Thanks mate, I'll give that a shot.
