    Default audio/visual help for VT!

i am planning on upgrading the current stockie vt system and looking around for what way i should go, i want a clear crisp sound but with a good deep loud bass, but i dont want it so loud that it drowns out the music.

as far as head units go, i want a double din LCD DVD/MP3/CD. seen a few cheapos around but more leaning towards a well known quality brand maybe a pioneer or soundstream that ive seen at motoquip. for around the 700+ mark.

i have a 600W 4 channel Sony Xplod amp sitting in a box on the floor of my bedroom at the moment, so im going to be using that, also, my mate is willing to sell me a sony xplod 1300W 12" sub in a custom box and soundstream 6x9's nice and cheap.

so thats head unit, amp, rear speakers and sub all covered.. next thing i need to find is front splits and a wiring kit. (still need suggestions on head unit please!)

any suggestions or comments or anything at all would be much appreciated as i know next to nothing about audio systems.

another worry is installation, will all of this stuff fit etc? like the H/U im worried about it being too deep or something.

Take a peek at the JVC 2-DIN DVD headunits - they are specced similar to the Pioneer & Sony units but they are heaps cheaper and the quality is still excellent. I've had a couple different JVC head units for the past 4 years and they have been fantastic.

DJS_117, there's a fairly big difference in the dash of VT compared to VY - it's a totally different configuration. The VY is fine (I've done it, pretty easy) and apparently the VT is OK for double DIN's too - but I believe the wiring, aerial socket and fascia are all different.
