Hey guys
Im currently wiring up the stereo in my commi and cant seem to find anywhere in the firewall to pass the power cable through. Any ideas??
Thanks
If the car in question is an auto then you can use the clutch cable grommet in the firewall, this should be located just behind the drivers side strut tower and is an oval shaped grommet....just pull that out, drill a hole big enough to put the cable through and then pass the cable through it and put the grommet back on.
With an auto this is a good place to get throught the firewall. All I did was to use a Stanley knife to make two cuts in a cross, with the gromet still in place (its not that thick). Then I just pushed the cable through the cut, it seals nicely around the cable, but you could add some sikoflex, just to be sure.
Cheers, Steve
thanks for the advice guy, was definately the easiest and quickest idea. worked well too as the cable was easy to access from the back side.
thanks heaps
