Hey guys,
My friend has a VY II Exec, and she has got the CD caught in the h/u some how. Everytime she goes to turn the player to the CD function it just comes up saying "error". The Cd isn't copied and it can't be removed from the player... How is the best way to get it out. Im fairly handy with Stereos and trinkets but was just trying to find out what kind of a task i was in for before i started, as i didn't know if it was possible to get the thing out in the first place.
Cheers

Hmm, you may have to remove the head-unit from the car then take off the top panel to get at the CD mechanism, after that youre on your own as ive never had to do this before.
Also just make sure youve got the security code for the unit before disconnecting the plug.
If you remove your h/u and slide it back in, it will not ask for a code, as the h/u knows it is being put back into the same car. But if you put that stereo into another car,it will ask for a code. As for the cd jamming, you can open the top cover and remove the cd quite easliy, and on some occasions the unit will start working again, but also if there is a stripped gear or the timing of the cd mech is out, it will need to be repaired.

Really?, well thats new to me....what if you were to disconnect it for more than say 5 minutes?
Also, if you know, what tells it its the same car?
The BCM and the head unit communicate with each other. You can leave the unit out of the car for a month - as long as it goes back in the same car, it powers straight up.

if its a single cd unit, it is pretty striaght forward to remove the cd, but once again i have done this numerous times and sometimes they work , and sometimes they dont. Usually the cd getting jammed is caused by a fault in the unit. Good luck!
