Has anyone done this?
I just got given a pair of brand new sony 12" 1300w subs in small sealed enclosures my boot is already maxed out with my install amps subs splits ect but I was wondering about mounting these down behind the front seats or maby in place of the centre fold down seat (vr/vs) that I have already removed.
they will only be powered 400w rms each and should give a bit more punch than boom to my system im hoping, as the 8" MTX woofers I tried were crappy.
so anyway who here has mounted subs in cabins before??? any ideas or suggestions very welcome
I saw at the auto salon a VS that had them mounted on a perpex panel firing back into the boot but I think this was more show than go
Recently I finished up a pair of 8's in custom glass enclosures underneath the seats of an evo...not really what you are looking for I know as they weren't designed to provide bass but ood.....it has a really solid mid bass section to back up the TREO18.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
also if youve already got subs in your boot why bother with these in cabin for subbass? less is often more.

there is splits mounted up on the boot lid now so when i want some wank value I can open the boot and have some sounds cranking, still working on the hinged lid tho.
I want to keep the sony's in sealed boxes for a bit of punchy bass rather than the huge boom I get at the moment with the twin 13.5" W3's, I already tried 8" woofers for a soundstage but they get get drowned. 10"'s would of been prefrable for this but I got the sony 12"'s for free after only been run for 10 mins the guy didnt like them because they wernt ported and only running 200wrms for the pair so he went with kickers instead. ( more money than sence )
I think I have figured out how I can mount them right under the parcel shelf bolted hard up against the rear seat frame rather than in the cabin with the W3's rear firing and the sonys front, unsure yet if I will have to run it with a modified rear seat or not I guess I will find out this weekend
