Thumbs down Trouble installing head unit in VS

    Hi
just installed a new sony head unit in my series 1 vs, but to stop it sticking out at the front I had to force it back into the dash and hold it there while i put the screws in.
This would have put a lot of pressure on the wiring harness and ariel at the back of the head unit.
    is this normal???

hey there, yeah i believe its hitting the heater box (black box) happened in my vr too.... i had no problems with it tho, just let it stick out a small bit as i didnt want to keep pressure on it, just watch out it doesnt get too hot and melt the plastic heater box

Did you have RCA's plugged into the back. I used right angle RCAs. It is a close fit but not tight.

Yeah its normal, the standard units fit in the nicely, but when you add the new wiring harness with a unit thats a little bit deeper its becomes a tight fit. Its normal to have to push the unit back and screw the brackets on, and shouldnt put too much pressure on the wiring/aerial.
