Default replacing head deck VH Commodore

hi, im changing the original factory head deck on my vh, ive heard that cd players tend to hit the heater box that is behind the console, and stick out a bit.
Is this true and is there a way to go around this, or any head decks that dont hit it?

    thanks Mr VH!!

You can fit 99 % of single din stereos into a VH Commodore. Its hard to explain but you need to file the sides of the opening of the VH stereo hole in order to fit the cradle into the hole. And you also need to use a stanley knife to cut two sections on either side so the cradle sits level. This may or may not involve easing the heater control out a bit depending on your skill. Sort of like cutting out a triangle shape on either side. Then once you have the cradle where you need it, its just a matter of riveting in the cradle. And no it wont hit the heater box, the only issue is if your using rca wires for amps, make sure you buy rca's that have right angle plugs on them. If you use straight ones then yes it will hit the heater box and not slide in all the way.
