Mate it would depend on how much your willing to spend and how much room you want left in the cargo area

Use pioneer over kenwood. I don't really know much of their gear but their mid-priced splits sound good, and their basic subs sound pretty good for what you pay

go kickers mate... i got kicker 6'' running off the head unit and kicker 6x9s running off a 90wrms 2 channel amp with no sub and it sounds mad. got good enough bass to not even run a sub. but if its only pioneer and kenwood you want definately go pioneer

is that including install or just for the gear. if it is just for the gear you can def do better than those brands, although i would prob use your connection and get a Pioner P80RS for HU duties

For three grand Id be looking at a full Rockford setup, should be able to get some kick arse splits, a 12, sub amp and 4ch and get a high end pioneer or alpine head unit. I dont think you would even tip the 3k over.

there is no advantage to sticking with just one brand, in my opinion rf is overpriced anyway.
some companies make great speakers but crap amps, and other make great amps and not so great speakers. the trick is to pick and choose the best components that suit your purpose.

pioneer decks are known to get engine noise through the speakers.kenwood make good decks or go with alpine deck, and get either soundstream speakers or focal.thats my opinion tho.

A properly setup HU and properly run wires won't get engine noise through the speakers. Whoever has told you that a specific brand will get engine noise through the speakers probably had his gear setup incorrectly.
