Hey just wanting to know what would be the best wattage to get in car speakers so its sound nice and not crackly. for 1000 watt speakers do you need an amp or something cause i just have a basic phillips cd player and dont wanna mess around with amps and all that just yet thanks

I would imagine your asking about the best wattage for speakers that you want to run off the head-unit (not an external amplifier) ?
If so, theres not really a "best" wattage to look for......more importantly you wanna look at a speakers RMS ratings and not the "max" rating, this is a much better indication of how much power a speaker can handle. Since your Phillips CD player will produce around 20wrms per channel (40-45w max) then i would look at speakers between 30-60wrms. A good option for you as you dont wanna add amplifiers etc would be 6" speakers up front (may need to get spacers or pods for these in the doors), and if 6" or even 6"x9" speakers in the rear, again you may need spacers if you dont wanna cut the metal out of the parcel shelf.
Hope this helps![]()

He lists TRUE specifications, after modifications are made by himself. All because his supplier can't give him the true R.M.S specs. And because the term Peak Music Power Output is so damn misleading! About time some one on ebay gives a stuff about what they sell! Read his other ads on amps, I like the dudes style!![]()

If you want to run them of the h/u, look for a speaker with a high sensitivity rating.
Yes, but read on and he says the amp will pull 25A at full load, yet in the pics it has a 15A fuse....i highly doubt it produces the 100wrms/ch. he claims.
In all honesty though, for the money he's asking its not too bad....not sure whether its worth fitting one if you have a half decent head-unit. It dosent have a HPF/LPF and add the cost of wiring and time to install etc. Really, i dont think it would sound any better than a namebrand head-unit (Alpine, Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood etc)
He doesn't actually give you the most useful rating of 4ohm per channel... This is what full range car speakers are rated as, yet he doesn't provide the info. From his other numbers it would indicate that it's about 25W/ch at 4 ohm because generally the power at 4 ohm is half the power produced at 2 ohm.
It's cheap eBay s**t that should be avoided at all costs.
Yeah, i sorta got confused with the ratings he was giving hahaha.
