while i was surfing cyberspace for some new amps, i came along this site,
http://www.crazysales.com.au/index.php?categoryID=28
their generic brands but got high watt amps cheap
and clam to have; Thermal Overhead, Overload, Short-Circuit Protection Function
so what you guys reckon?
much point in getting them?
are they too good to be true?
they also go gauges which are banded as "autogauge" but the logo is slightly different to the original "Autogauge" logo (changed to some areas to yellow e.g yellow gauges instead of white gauge faces in logo) which i guess are copies

I have the 5ch 2900 Watt one listed on the site, yet to put in....but when I do I can let you know how it is
cheap amp means , cheap sound

Cheap, does not always mean cheap sound, but it does mean cheap components. I would prefer to sound good, over looking good. 99% of people are after good sound with a bit more punchnot many people go for clarity too, so "cheap" stuff will work fine when your doof doof drowns out and you hear no clarity.
They don't even have proper power ratings... They have ridiculous max power ratings that mean nothing. They're just cheap crap, you'd be better off buying a 2nd hand name brand amp, then you'll get a reasonably cheap amp and better quality.
Divide all their power ratings by 10 and then decide if they are still worth it

this is the sort of gear uleh has in his Vl
with no springs and shabby tyres.
sure they will make noise. but dont expect any sort of reliability or decent sound out of the amps..
i also recommend going 2nd hand.

Rear Speakers: FusionPP-FR6520 Subwoofer: Fusion PP-SW120 Amp For Front And Rear: Fusion PP-AM120040 Subwoofer Amp: Fusion PP-AM300010
Even the eBay ones are still crap. At least you can tell the power rating from the eBay ones. 25Wrms x 4 at 4 ohm is crap, head units make 20-25W! As has been said, but something at least half decent, even if it's been used by someone else.
hey guys welll i have a "rockwood" obvious rip off of rockford... running my single 12" pioneer sub... and dayyyum for a no brander does it pump!!!
seriously but that having been said this is the only good experience i hav had with cheap branded amps... so up to you... if u wanna take a chance with the dice get a cheapy and dont mind losin a bit of money then go ahead if u wanna spend a bit more and get a reliable one with a trusted brand name then thats your decision...
just up to your cash flow atm and what your after![]()

power amps are power amps.......or as they say, should be just a piece of wire with gain.
If the specs are at all acceptable, ie rms power at <1% distortion, then i just work on the best Watts/$ ratio. Sound quality, I dont know who people are kidding when they think that less than 1% distortion out of an amp is going to make a sonic differnece to even the best speakers(which wont be in anyone's car) which put out at least 3 times that amount.
Of course there are other intangibles, reliability, interference probs.....but in my experience have had more problems with higher priced gear!
In fact I have a 50+50wrms concord amp that I bought battered and bruised 25 years ago for ~$30, that is still going strong and will sound just as good in a car as a $5000 pure class A amp of the same power.
I got one of those Powervox 5000w amps.....obviously not 5000w but I had 2 12" JL's cranked off of it.....ended up killing the subs, but fark it cranked! It never seemed to start distorting, which is why I kept killing subs, it would crank as hard as u wanted, not like most other amps which would run outta power and start distorting.
Anyways I kept blowing subs with it so got a 800w Pioneer monoblock amp and a pair of Pioneer 12's.....they go hard and they've lasted ages.![]()
