Should put a multi meter on it see if ur gettin 12v to it..

Check ur RCA's are connected correctly.

Make sure ur turning the right dial on the amp, i did this mistake kept on turin Subsonic filter instead of the gain.

Id check the voltage first, make sure its grounded on clean bare metal.
Thats usually ppl first mistake not havin a good enough ground

The signal to the sub wont be 12V, and the signal will be fast so you probably wont get any meaningful reading. You could try measuring the resistance of the sub, you would have to remove it first though - may or may not help.

I would try another sub, surely a mate would have one, or an auto store might bring one out to try if you tell them you would be interested in purchasing from them.

Check all your connections and if possible try your sub in another car or plug it straight into a hifi stereo that has a seperate subwoofer terminal to test what exactly the problem is. That way we can cut down on the possible problems.

    Cheers

You don't need a 900rms amp to test the sub though. Just find someone with a suitable amp and see if it works.

Or hook someone elses sub up your system. That way you know if its the sub, or your setup and you can then start looking at it more in depth depending on what you find.

neither, On the sub box i worked on it had two jacks comming out of the box, as in two seperate, 1 pos 1 neg each. obviously one of them wasnt connected and one was. but thats another thing id make check your wires going to each voice coil.

Where did you ground the amp to ?
As Vn2nV has stated check or if possible earth it to a different location.
Im assuming youve sanded back the area to bare metal?

If youve got a multimter handy, check that there is 12+v going to the amps terminals.

Get back to us when youve done these things.
