Default Ve Sv6 Front Splits installation

I have purchased some 5" splits that fit nice and snug in the car i am about to go ahead and install the tweeters once i work out how to remove the dash trims where the stock yweeters are.

My question is do i need the crossovers installed and if i do what part and where do i need them installed to?

Any help in this matter would be great and much appreciated.

    Thanks

Yes you need to use the crossovers so the mids and tweeters receive their correct frequencies. With the crossovers, you could try mounting them inside the door on the metal strip that comes with the splits. Or make one up the same if you like. Just make sure there is clearance between the window (when down) and the crossover when mounted in the inside of the door frame.

If you don't wish to take on the above method, you might be able to find a cavity under the dash, to mount the crossovers in.

My new ride with some upgrades.

thanks heaps for that. So all this is still necessary even if i already have the stock tweeters and am just looking to replace the tweeter.

Wont the stock tweeters be receiving the right frequencies already from the h/u?

    Thanks

Yeah definitely install the crossovers that came with the speakers. Mine were installed either side of the head unit behind the triangular shaped kick panels. There was plenty of room in there. I had these professionally installed but I installed an amp and speakers in the rear so I had to pretty much pull everything off again so when I did I took some photo's of where they installed them. So have a look at the attached pictures, they should help understand where i'm talking about.

thanks for that mate. I will probably opt for the professional installation as it might get tricky with the wiring.

    Cheers
