Hi,
I was just wondering where the best spot to ground the amps in my VT commodore.
I have them in the boot at the moment, but have recently put a VX SS body kit on, so it no longer has the bolts behind the tail lights.
Is there a better spot to ground there? Or does someone know a better spot.
any exposed part of the body will do.
scratch off paint if need be and bolt the ground there.
(be careful of the fuel tank)
I would say without having a good look (havent worked on a VT for a while) is the rear seatbelt bolts. You'll have to remove the bottom part of the rear seat, sand back the area to bare metal and your away.
Yeah, depending on where the amps are mounted either one (the selt belt bolt or like what sxc_sound has suggested)
The main thing is to sand back the area to bare metal, then screw/bolt your earth terminal to that area. You can even get some matching paint and go back over the spot if you like.
Just curious, is it possible to ground to the top of the boot? Not the boot lid, but the metal inside the boot beneath the parcel shelf?
Got everything hooked up, thought I'd double check before I wire the power.
I've got one amp grounded beneath the boot carpet which has worked fine, but I mounted my new amp on the roof inside the boot. It's not living there long, so we'll see... haven't had time to finish the wiring.
