G'day guys,
just got a car stereo for x-mas, I thought about installing it myself but thought i better just get someone that knows what there doing, what am I up for from say a autobarn or JB Hifi installer, and who have you found to be better out of the two??
cheers
The service provided by JB and Autobarn is going to differ from store to store.
cheers guys, just roughly whats it cost to install a CD player and few speakers?
if ur in sydney the lifestyle store in north parramatta is pretty good. apart from leaving a spaner in my engine bay, i was quite happy with their install job![]()
If youre wanting a CD player fitted and the front speakers changed then expect to pay anywhere from $100 to $180 i would imagine. Dont take it to an Autobarn or JB Hi Fi store unless you KNOW that particular store prduces quality work.
depends what area your in mate, i know the blokes at autobarn in bayswater and they do good work.
most car audio shops charge about 88 bux to fit and can be done in 30 mins but norammly book you in for 1-2 hrs
ring round
remeber jb have contractors and dont care about your car and will slam it in
You don't have any mates that can do it for you? They're free, and you can learn while they do it.![]()
On my old ****box camry I paid $50 for someone to install a headunit into it at WOW Sight and Sound.
Remember guys, you get what you pay for most of the time.....
Install it yourself. I know absolutely nothing about car audio (well, nothing about electronics side of it anyway), and I got my HU in perfectly. Still works fine, so I mustn't have done anything dodgy.
We charge 88 dollars to fit a customers stereo that they have supplied. If we supply and fit the stereo we charge 60. But bargain them down anyway. I can fit a unit into a vs in about 15 minutes. Just say another mob has quoted 50 dollars and see what they say. you will get someone who will take the job for 50 60 bucks.
Gotta add the fronts to Luke0011.
