Just wired up a 300W Clarion APA4300 but Im hearing nothing from it. At the moment its wired up to splits and nothing else. Only running the 2 channels. There is power to the amp but no output to the speakers. I checked the signal wire and speaker wires and they seem fine Am I missing something? Im new to all this so any help would really be appreciated!
Have you wired the remote or control wire from the head unit to the amp?...wont work unless you have,,if it didnt have something to turn it off and on it would just flatten your battery so the wire tells the unit to turn on when your head unit is on.

Figured out the problem. Ended up being a pretty stupid mistake. I assumed that fading the sound to the front speakers would work with the amp... or is it meant to??? Anyway faded the speakers back to the middle and all of a sudden I have sound! lol
Only problem I have now is that there is a whine and crackle in the speakers which goes with the motor whenever I have the car running. Ran RCA's, speaker wires and signal wire all on the opposite side to the power cable but still got the noiseAny idea how to fix this?
Could be a number of things;
Where did you ground the amp to? and did you sand back the area to bare metal to get a good contact?
What type of head-unit are you using?
Using a Pioneer HU at the moment. Found the major cause of most of the problem. Had a dodgy earth on my HU. Headunit was using the aerial as a earth. Found a good earth for the HU and disconnected the aerial (interfers ALOT and I never listen to much radio anyway). Almost all of the buzz of the engine has gone away and now there is only a very slight hum from the speakers which you can only hear with the volume right down. I can live with that, so its all good![]()
