Default Amp and sub into standard ute system

    Hi guys,

I've been reading through the site for a while now gatther alot of useful info and thought I better ask a question.

Can you run an amp and sub via the standard stereo system in the VE SV6 ute? I haven't found anything related in the VE section as yet.

if you have any info it would be greatly appreciated.

hey mate, No the standard ve system doesnt have RCA outputs so you cant run an amp. Or you can get a LOC which turns your two rear channels into Rca outs so you can run an amp. Ive never done it so I cant tell you how it sounds

Yeah, as trentvy said, you can add an aftermarket amplifier to your stock system using a LOC (Line Out Converter). How it will sound will depend on the components installed, how they were installed and how well the system is tuned. Another factor (and very important) is the brand of LOC used. Do some research before purchasing one, like any other component.

Theres also the option of purchasing an amplifier with "high level" or speaker level inputs....not the best for sound quality though.

Another alternative is to ask a guy on here called Phreddy, he can modify the stock head unit to have RCA preouts.

you also have the option of buying a processor that allows high level inputs like a Rockford RF360.2 or an Audison BitOne, these will give you plenty of tuning options as well as allowing multiple amps to be run

I've installed a Pioneer monoblock amp, not sure of the model number, and a slimline Pioneer 10" box into a VE ute. The amp has a high level input option and while it wasn't totally awsome, it did sound pretty good and the guy drove away smiling.

No, I used the front speaker outputs. In that case I had very limited time to search for stuff.
