Cd player not picking up amp

hi there i have wired my sounds system up it was working b4 then it stared sying protection on the amp. so i pulled everything apart and re-wired it and now the amp switches on but doesnt et sound out of anything plugged into it. it doesnt say protect now just dont pick up anyhting plugged into it.
would sum1 be abl o help me out here thanks.
