The current plan for my cabling layout is to run the 2 RCA cables along with wires for RL (from HU), FL and FR (From amp) speakers down the passenger side and run the amp power cable and RR speaker cable down the driver side to try and minimise interference between RCA and power. My concern, however, is that the RCA cables will cause interference with the FR and FL cables.
Will this be a problem, if so, how should I rearrange the layout?
Thanks in advance, Dave
Hi,
not a professional audio guy, but the power and turn on cable (blue cable) run down the drivers door. and speaker and RCA cables run down the passenger side.
If I'm wrong, someone correct me. Also, the RCA cable are shielded (pretty sure), so wouldn't be affected by interference.
Deck: Alpine 9887
Speakers: Hertz HSK165 XL
Amps: Audison SRx2, SRx4 & Alpine M350
Subs: 2x Alpine 10" Type S
thats the right way to run them as long as rca and power are not together spkr wires dont matter ya can run them anywhere
rca wires and speaker wires cannot interfere with each other
I always run the power cable down the R/H side cos thats the side the battery is on, the RCA's down the L/H side usually or if I have the centre console out I run them down the centre. The RCA's won't interfere with your speaker cables, the small turn on lead can go wherever. It only draws a few milliamps, and I've never had any problems traced back to that. Why are you running your rear speaker leads to the front, are they running off the deck? or is the amp in the front?. Quite often the original speaker wiring are twisted pairs, so they are pretty much shielded from any interference anyway.

The cabling is in now, thanks for your help guys. The rears are going to run off the HU and run the fronts of the amp. I figured since I rarely have rear passengers that I would get a far better result amping the front splits.
Thanks again, Dave
