Default Sub box dilema, 2x 12" Subs, 2x mono blocks, LPG tank but still want spare!

title pretty much explains it, but i need some ideas, i have a friend who is going to be making two custom boxes for me, i have an lpg tank at the back, but want a really good box.

does anyone know of anyways i can still get to the spare? whether its making half of it fold up and pull the spare out sideways or something.

i dont know 100% what im trying to ask for.. but if anyone can help in anyway would be awesome.

You havent really got many options there.

    * One would be to get one of those spare tyre in a cans, and yes, they do work for a temporary fix.
    * Make the box semi-removable, so that if need be you can remove the sub box and access the spare etc.

The free air subs arent too bad, but they wont come close to producing the same output of 2 12s....depends on how much bass your after.

another quick question.. is it actually illegal to have no spare? (IN SA)

my understanding of the rule its illegal to have a non roadworthy spare, but its not illegal to have none at all.

why dont you just use a dual 12 in box that you can unplug and pull out if you need the spare

IMO the bass hits and quality isnt as good thru a twin box as a single

dont know if its true or not, just my personal experience, i know a few systems that have twin boxes that really pump, but i also know others where their subs have cancelled each other out pretty much

Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but where is your spare located? under the floor or on the side?

    Ok thanks.

Well in case case, would you be able to get your friend to make 2 boxes that fit in either side of the boot, and "re do" the false floor, so you can still easily get to your wheel.

ok decided ill just run a twin box and not have a spare. ive got raa and friends haha, if i pop a tyre i can either borrow a spare or call the raa (premium member so i get free towing <100km)

if i go for a long drive interstate or something ill just take the subs out or bring a trailer.

    cheers for the ideas.

I think the OP has worked out any problems in the last 2 years.
