i installed my sound system last night.. and now when i accelerate theres a high pitched sound.. almost like the sound of a turbo haha what is this?
also.. is there some sort of mounting brackets for a double DIN h/u to fit into a VU ute..

sounds like alternator whine to me, check your grounds, make sure the paint is sanded back. also ensure your RCAs are not running next to your power, generally they are run on opposite sides of the car.
That pretty much sums it up, what he is talking about is EMI ( Electromagnetic interference - Electromagnetic interference - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) and the best ways to eliminate it in cars are strong earth connections (sand everywhere a ground connection is made as there may be a clear coat over the metal). If this has been done then check the wiring inside your engine bay, my system suffered from a bit of EMI because the power cable inside the engine bay was routed near my alternator and if thats the case you have 2 options, (a) re-route the wire or (b) buy a sheath for the cable.

Had the same problem with mine a very bad earth and had to clean up all connections, its most probably alternator feed back. Or like above run your leads on opposite sides.
Check your spark plug leads as well that they are suppressed leads![]()
