hi all,
im getting a vl commodore tomorrow and i just wanted to know if i could put a mp3 cd player in it.
and how hard it is to do, because im not paying any1 to do it
thanks.
( oh and if any1 has any websites that actually show how to do it, that would be much appreciated, becuase im a real noob atm lolz )
u CAN put wateva cd player mp3 player whatever in it BUT its not easy my mate just got a sound system done in a vl at jb hifi basically they had to reserve the whole day to do his car u have to pull out half the dash to pull the head unit out id pay some1 the 100 bucks to do it and get it done properly
I've driven fast cars I've done stupid shit in them each time i seem to come out on top i love you guardian angel
vp ss 3 months to go
oh shit that doesnt sound too fun lolz, but then again i like being challanged, but thats just me, thanks for the advice though i MIGHT actually consider getting som1 to put it in because i thought you just had to pop the h/u out and plug the new 1 in lolz
Does the VL your getting have the stock head-unit in it?
If so then yeah, its a big mission to get out.
Theres two options:
1) Do as the guys a JB did and rip half the dash out to get to a bolt that screws in from the rear of the unit.
2) Rip out the entire contents of the stock head-unit, except for the frame. (this includes the face, then the tape player and electonics) basically what you do is remove enough internals to get to the rear of the frame, where you'll see the other end of the threaded bolt.......then you just get a drill and suitable drill bit and drill the little sucker out.
