Default My sub is an open circuit??

Just took a sub in to be tested (Sony Xplode) and he said that it is stuffed, its an open circuit.
to be honest, i dont know what this means exactly so im hoping someone can explain it to me.
nothing seems visually blown on it so what is broken?
if its definatley no good (let me know) and ill try and remove the magnet from it.

BTW: its from a car i bought years ago and never bothered to see if it worked.

open circuit means that there is no continuity in a circuit (the coil of the sub). He would have measured the impedance (ohms) between the 2 terminals on the sub, if there is no circuit the sub won't work. If all else fails connect it up to an amp and see if it works.

Basically the speaker has a length of wire wound in a coil that works as an electromagnet. If you pulled the speaker apart you could pull this wire out, uncoil it and make a long length. An open circuit means there is a break somewhere in the length of wire. If you could join the tiny break in the wire the speaker would work again, but not really possible.
