I need help....
I have a VY SS.
I am looking to upgrade my front speakers to Pioneer TSA1702C Split System Speakers 6.5-Inch 2-Way 250 Watt Component Speakers.
I don't understand what the two external crossover things are or what they are for.
Also i am looking to replace the rears with Pioneer 6 x 9" 3-Way Speaker TS-A6962E.
And hooking up to an amp and 12 inch sub, which i already have.
Is this a decent set up, and what are the cross over things?
It was never this hard 20yrs ago.....
Cheers
cross over's seperate diffrent frequencie's of sound to there speaker high pitch noises go to your tweeter (little speaker) and more beefy sound's go to the woofer (bigger speaker)
Eureka styles!
So do you wire them in between the 2 speakers?
Gday mate crossovers will seperate the high frequencies between high (played through the tweeter) and your low/mid (played through woofer, the big one :P) designed to give awesome sound quality ive drawn you up a little diagram to help u wire them up, hope it helps let me know if you have dramas.
Nearly everyone will tell you not to bother with 6x9's if your going to have a sub. The point of 6x9's is to have the larger cone area to produce bass, kinda like a 8" subwoofer. If you have passangers in the back seat and you want speakers for them, try some 6.5" in the rear doors.
Other than that, TrentVY nailed the crossover part, so good luck with the install. I had the TSC1625's which are the older version of your splits and was really happy with them.
