You could buy a VS statesman head-unit and stacker, which should fit fine, do you get the stacker cable with it?

Very unlikely it will play copied cd's. I have a statesman with that stacker in it and i haven't found a burnt disc that will play yet.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a new H/U for like $150 that plays MP3s. Instead of 10 cds or whatever the stacker is capable of, you can have 100s of songs.

But if you really want the factory look....

My mate just got a VS Statesman and has the Radio/Cassette Player, 10 CD stacker and steering wheel controls, and wants to know how to add a sub and amp with the head unit. Is it possible to do it with that headunit?

yeah mate it is.. had a mate do it at one stage, basically he took the rear speaker wire and put that into the line inputs on his amp (your mate may need a hi-lo converter depending on his amp). But being that he had a 4 channel amp he then hooked his rear speakers and sub up to the amp.. worked quite well

How about if he got a new headunit, it would make it easier for the sub an amp, but can he still use the CD stacker and steering wheel controls? Thanks for your reply to.

Yeah a new headunit would be much better but he wont be able to use the stacker but you can get adapters for the steering wheel controls. I ended up getting rid of my stacker and replacing it with a dvd player with touch screen.. so much better than the stacker and you can fit a hell of alot more songs on a dvd.
