Hi all
I am a bit of a newbie to car stereo installs, but want to have a go doing it myself. I have a 4 channel cadence amp that I want to mount in my boot – VS Statesman (so fully carpeted and drop down centre onto the back seat). I have read a few posts on here but none of which quite answer what I am after.
I am thinking about fabricating up a sheet metal piece that attaches to the underside of the parcel shelf and folds back to join the rear of the back seats. Mounting it this way will mean that I am not trapping any heat between it and the parcel shelf if I was to make a bracket on there, or mount it upside down. Does this sound suitable?
I guess the hardest part will be working out the angle that the back seat is on relative to the parcel shelf. Has anyone had any experience themselves doing something like this?
Thanks.
bracket to the parcel shelf would be fine. mount it the right way up though, heat rises etc.
hey mate are you wanting it to flip down with the middle seat or just be mounted to the underside of the parcel shelf? I have a vs too and put my amp in two days ago, i'm planning to mount it on the underside of the parcel shelf too. if your having any troubles let me know becuase i just overcame most doing the amp into my vs.
Cheers.
Thanks sweefu and bezz for your quick replys.
Sweefu, I wasn't really too concerned whether it flipped down with the middle seat or not, probably not really worth it as its not something i need to show off aesthetically. All I'm really concerned with is mounting it so the heat doesn't get trapped around the amp. Do you have a picture of what you have done so I could check it out?
Thanks.
