Im wanting a system in my ute, i have the head unit. I intend on having splits at the front (or should i be running something different?) and a slim sub behind the seat. What sort of amp will i need? I ran a mono block last time that was just running the sub but i want the splits to pump aswell. So does that mean i need a 2 channel amp? Also wat wattage should i be looking for?
Buy a monoblock for your sub, and a 4 channel for your splits in case you want to add anymore speakers later. Have both the amps mounted under your seats if possible.
As for wattage, depends...... The power of your subs and speakers etc.....
He wont really be able to install another pair of speakers as he has a ute.
Go with a 4ch amplifier, something with around 100-150wrms per channel should be enough. Bridge the rear channels to run the subwoofer and run the speakers off the front channels.
Buy a pair of good splits for the front doors, Pioneer, Alpine etc make decent models for around the $250-$350 mark and will love 100-150wrms. Set the high pass filters for the splits on around 60-80hz and the low pass filter for the subwoofer on about the same. That way the splits dont play the low bass (thats for the subwoofer).![]()
