    Default Inputs on Subwoofers

    Hi all,
    I'm a bass addict
Currently own a Hifonic Olympus 2412 (2400/4800) subwoofer.
I was wondering if someone could recommend a different subwoofer?
(I do like the Olympus, but may get someone different)
It's actually for my girlfriends car but I was wondering if a Kicker L7 15" (1000/2000) would be better than the Olympus?

    Any other suggestions?

Edit : I'm kind of looking at the following:
    Hifonic Olympus 2412 12" (2400/4800)
    Kicker S15L7 15" (1000/2000)
    Soundstream R1-15 15" (1300/2600)
    Rockford Fosgate T215D4 15" (1000/2000)

What type of sound are you after? SQ or SPL

How big do you wanna build the box (i.e. 2/3/4 cubes)?

I'd throw into the mix the SPL Dynamics XTR series 12 or 15, ive got 2 of the 15s and they go hard......i feed them 2kw+ each daily and have played them for over an hour at 3/4 volume (still 146+db) and they dont even get warm!!!
    Heres a linky:

holdenboy, the current laws of physics will not let you have SQ and an L7.

Deutscher: you know where I always come from, SQ. Do you really enjoy the 15 over a good 12....?

I got 2 12" L7s and I think they are great. Really quick sub, stops dead on with the music, if you know what I mean, really tight sub.

But then again the only other sub I have had are Pioneer TS-W307s so not much to compare them with.

For spl maybe a dd 2512? I'd go one of those over the 4 you've listed (although I hear good things about hifonics)

For sq maybe a boston g2 or g5?

Depends on your budget I guess...

    Hi,
    Thanx for the input guys.
Budget is about $1000, I will be buying off ebay.
So it's a bit limited to what I can get.
    For instance, I can't find DD's.
At the moment I'm looking at the Kicker S15L7.
Do you think this will outperform the Hifonic 2412?

Consider them aswell, they have a lot of specials on new used and ex demo stuff. Also they have links to the retail pricelists of a lot of the brands you listed - definitely comes in handy.

Why off Ebay? A genuine product (not a rip off) and a hassle-free warranty isnt assured on there.

A sub will only sound as good as the box.

I know heaps of people aren't fans off ebay. But I only buy items that are brand new with 20k+ transactions with 95%+ positive feedback. Haven't had a problem with any of my things . I've got car subs/amps/dj gear/computer items.

Reason I buy off ebay is because most of the items are in USA and no suppliers in my area sell them i.e Hifonics.

Hifonics is sold by fhrx in the link above. With the dollar the way it is its not that beneficial buying grey imports anymore, the price difference doesn't really justify the lack of warranty like it used to.

I might be able to get myself a Hifonic Olympus 2415 for $670. Seems pretty decent.
