    Default VY Speakers

Have a VY Acclaim S/Wag and would like to upgrade the speakers and install seperate amp as Stage 1. The standard system does not 'fill' the car with sound.

Would like to keep current positions but install tweeters at ear level if possible. A sub is an option but would have to fit out of site. Ear splitting noise levels are not required, just good quality components.

    Any suggetsion welcomed.

Honestly, you don't want tweeters at ear level......it will give you ear splitting noise levels in the treble department......Here is how I get a signal to the amplifier.....

After running power to the amp and getting your trigger wire. Run speaker cable to the head unit but don't wire them up just yet.... Unwrap the loom going to the head unit. (Remove glove box and drop the panel beside the transmission tunnel down) Locate in there the speaker wires by tracing them back and looking for colours. Cut them seperatly. Using two HI-LO convertors attach the speaker wires coming from the head unit and then run your RCA cables down to the amp. The amp may have a hi-lo convertor built in, but I can't suggest using it, there usually not very good. Then wire your speakers back upto the wires that have nothing attached to them. These will run back down to your speakers in the doors and should keep you very happy. They will provide a fair amount of bass.

If you still want more bass, then it will be quite difficult as there really isn't anywhere in the wagon you can put it without it being noticable. Unless you have the cargo curtain.

Hope this was of some help. PM me if you need extra help.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
