and no ya dont need one they are a waste money
Honestly mate, capacitors have more of a "wow" factor rather then a useful addition to a system. Youre money is better spent on a better battery and/or upgraded wiring.

Unless your experiencing any problems such as headlights dimming as a result of the power being drawn from your battery, then as stated above, they are a waste of time and money.
Even if you get headlight dimming, you'll find a capacitor wont help all that much. As i said, better battery and upgraded wiring should dramatically reduce or eliminate headlight dimming.

my battery has decided to start playing funny buggers with me today so im gonna get a new one, what would you recommend? i dont want anyting to expensive
Are you a member of NRMA? if so, they offer a replacement battery for $99, i think it's a 460 CCA. I just replaced my battery with a 440 CCA,which i thought was a little under what i should have got, but i haven't had any problems yet, and i run 2 x 2 channel amps, 1 x Monoblock, Splits, 6x9's, and a sub...Also, another idea, if your not a member of NRMA ect, car delearships, when they sell a new car, they remove the battery and fit a new one, and quite often will sell the old ones. I picked up one, which would have only been a few months old for $50-
autobahnnnnnn are doing 600cc for 99 bux atm normally 169
