    Default Duragloss Competition time!

Ok guys and girls, time for another competition….

What we are looking for is a few pictures of your ride if you have used a Duragloss product on it. This can be anything from their Car Wash Concentrate, Aquawax, Wheel Cleaner, Leather Cleaner & shampoo etc.

We want to know what you have used, the results you achieved and why you like the product.

    Competition rules:
    - Photos must be original, taken by yourself and of your or an immediate family members car.
    - Plates and identifying marks can be hidden if you wish.
    - All submitted photos must contain at least one Duragloss Product in the picture. We want to see what you have used and the results.
    - We want a few sentences ‘reviewing’ the product and letting us know what you thought of it.
    - No photoshoping! You can have all the pretty borders and cropping you wish but the winner will be judged on the subject, composition and quality of the overall image.
    - Our decision is final; the winner will be picked by Mike and Greg from CCP.
    - Additional prizes may be awarded if we choose too; this will be at the future discretion of CCP.

    Prize:

A Duragloss pack containing a 650ml bottle of Fast Clean and Shine, a mint Ultra Soft cloth and a mixture of Duragloss samples.

COMP CLOSES 11:59pm ON SUNDAY THE 5th JULY

    Cheers Greg & Mike

Well if I can find the time, it looks like Im in.

So I looked up dura-gloss on-line and checked out their U.S site and I must say I found some interesting products in their range.

Two guys started the company because they thought they could make a better product. Thats the same mental process that Lamborghini had when he started out. They were chemists, so they had some scientific basis for developing their products.

I also went to the CCP site and I checked out all of the dura-gloss products and I found some products Ive never heard of and I hadnt thought of. Its worth a visit just to open your mind.

They give you options, if you want a quick clean they have some quick products, but when you are right into detailing and all that, they have more specialist stuff. For mine, you cant clean a car properly in less than 8 hours at home. Even then, its imperfect. So car-cleaning is best seen in degrees and trying to reach the unreachable. Keep challenging yourself, strive for as much excellence as possible with the time and tools you have.

On the US site, they market a leather conditioner which includes "mink oil" and Im not sure how they would make that or how big the market is for product like that. We are probably too politically correct.

Then you can get a product for white-walled tyres, and that must be a really low % of the tyre market, but I suppose they sell enough of it to make it. It shows their enthusiasm, I would have to concede that.

Since I got the commodore, I have been a bit dissapointed in the quality of the interior paint work and I am looking for a cleaner, so I might buy that. Assumedly after gentle rubbing it wont rip off more paint.

The general spends a fortune on body design etc and then went cheap with the interior paint, but the electricals are 100 times better than Toyota's Ive owned.

But the product that most interests me is the duragloss swirl remover because the other cars feature some swirls. Actually, the commodore does too. The previous owner wasnt as enthusiastic about washing it properly...probably attended to dirty duco through an automatic car wash. Thats a terrible thought for us enthusiasts. They should be banned.

They sound confident about their product. Tell you what, I expect a pretty high standard. They get one chance to impress, but if it delivers, well I will stick with it like glue and sing its praises to all and sundry.

mmmm I will keep my intended duragloss product a mystery until the photo. Lots to choose from.

Ok, now I have to get out there and try to take the prize.

Did you know?: a solid wet sanding and polish of head and tail lights completes the home detail!

Alright, looks like i will get this one started,

I Use the car wash concentrate and wheel cleaner fortinightly, you dont need much as its a concentrate. I like keeping the wagon always clean, so there not much elbow grease required if give it quick wash regularly with this stuff. My brother nicks the wheel cleaner to use on his new BMW.

I have also put a good coat of the Duragloss 101 polish on a couple on months ago for protection as it is kept outside, but you wouldn't know this by looking at it!

    Cheers
    Greg
