What would be the best way to remove tree sap that been on the car for a while (like possibly more than 6 months) because ive tried a few things and nothing has worked
t cut or what the old man uses is a rag and bi carb of soda and a lil bit of water and rubs it in
use a clay bar. Cheap and will remove all of the contaminents.
if u have used compound or any cutting paste and it is still their, look at it closely and if it has fine cracks in it your in trouble , this is the clear coat eaten away,it now depends on how deep into the clear its gone to see wether u can save it bat shit or bird shit is worst
De Solv it is a great product for removing and disolving things like tree sap:
Car Care Products / Speciality Brands / Exterior / Surface Prep / De-Solv-it
If the contaminant is bonded to the paint work then a clay bar will be needed. If the car is that unloved a clay baring will be needed anyway.
As Skyper said, if the sap has eaten away at the clear coat and it is marked, you may never correct it.
