    Question TurtleWax ICE?

Have been hunting round for it for sometime now and seems no one stocks it.

There was a sample link on this forum and alot of members recieved a sample. Seems like good stuff so I have been searching but its a no go.

Do you know anyone who stocks it? Ive searched Autobarn, Kmart, BigW, Supercheap ect...

Or can you recommend a similer product with the same quality?
Mainly looking for a liquid claybar and liquid polish.

    Cheers, Ozzie.

    Hey Ozzie,

I have to agree with the comments above, the products appear to be fairly highly priced and not very good quality, they seem to mask the imperfections in the paint. Liquid Clay is just a gimmic and does not remove any where near as much of contamination as a regular clay.

For a good, easy to use product:

The best clay is Dodo Clay and Lube

if not the Mothers Clay Kit is still pretty good

For an easy to use Polish and Cleaner that offers amazing durability for a value price Duragloss 101 - it will outshine and outlast most off the shelf brands for less $$$

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

    Thanks CCP.

The duragloss 101 is definetly at a good price.

The Dodo Clay & lube is pricey. It would want to be the best lol. Have you personally used the clay? and if so, do you highly recommend it?

I know mothers is expensive but half the price is just for the brand name.

You talking about the Ice range?

Im after something of quality... price doesnt really matter. Nothings too good for your car.
Im in the process of paint restoration so all opinions welcome.

Supercheap Ballarat doesnt have the ICE range and from the comments above I will try anything else to stay away from ICE lol.

I need more info on a swirl remover product also. Not deep swirls that would require something like ScratchX but a decent polish that will fill the light swirls.

ICE Polish is rubbish, dosn't stay on long at all and results arent as good as some name brands on CCP. People have to understand that as some name products exspecialy sealants, may be slightly dearer but stay on 3 to 4 times longer and give a better shine so in reality, are cheaper in th long run.

You will only get a quality result (shiny paint) and long lasting protection if you prepare the paint surface properly and use a quality product.

The Dodo Clay, like Clay Magic and 3M are used in body shops, each bar is 200gr and can be split into 2 or 3 pieces, with each of these able to clay 4-8 cars per piece. On average each bar would last a enthusiast about 3 years. Not bad for $55!

The Mothers is the next best thing at $40 it has 2 small clay bars in with the lube, but these are 80 gr each and are not professional grade, so will not last as many times/cars.

Both are heaps better than the Megs kit at $35 with just one average quality 80gr bar. And the Ice Liquid at $40 that will last only 1 time and probably scratch you car.

Marketing is powerful and good marketing is magic - but don't believe everything you see by these big brands and their ads. We are here to give you proven results and products.

My advice spend $100-150 now on the right kit and give your car the results it deserves for 1-2 years. Or spend $60-80 at Superc** and then come back in 2-3 months when your car is still looking average.

    Proper steps:

Wash with good quality m/f mitt
Dry with waffle weave drying towel
Use a decent pH neutral shampoo
    (every week or two)

    (full detail every 3-6 months)
Clay the car to remove contamination

    Polish to improve imperfections

Seal or Wax to Protect (something like DG 101 will do 2 steps in 1)

You'll never look back once you have used the good stuff...

I've recently used the Mothers Clay Bar kit, and it's seamed to have worked great, removed a lot of shit of my paint.

Polishing and waxing was also a lot easier after claying!

ive used TW Ice a few times. the first time on the vl, it was ok. the second time on the vz, it was horrible! it wouldnt buff off properly and it is no way near as good and a normal polish! and it sucks with dark colours. however it is really good on plastic, but dust and dirt sticks to it badly.
id get normal polish, its more effort but the results speak for themselves
