Help, the beginning of rust?

Hiyas. Well attached are photos of my 2000 VT, which looks like the clear coat is peeling and bubbling away.

I think it *may* have started from not washing of car washing chemicals straight away (Let a mate wash my car about a year ago) and there was a very slight stain where the chemical was left in the sun - wouldnt have been long but maybe dried?.

How can i treat this, am i looking at a respray?

Yep, your looking at a respray.
You may be lucky an only need the clear coat redone but i would say it will be the whole lot.
Chemicals or not, VT paint will peel eventually either way - just like VN paint WILL fade on the roof and bonnet.
