How do I get these marks off?
I believe they are acid rain marks? the last pic is an area I waxed. seems to have hid it but it will probably come back up when the wax is gone. lol
I read somewhere vinegar can soften it and allow me to soften it and remove it with a cut and polish? I dont really have money for a repaint so any help would be greatly appreciated. :/
Most likely you'll need to use a clay bar to remove it. No point putting a wax over the top of it. That will achieve nothing.

Yeah I'll probably pick up a claybar over the week. I used some cleaner wax on a portion of the bonnet yesterday and that seems to have done a bit of help. but will most likely need a bar and a polisher :/
why is every thing solved with clay bar it need a cut and polish any ways ya might not get it like new but ya will get it looking good get a buff one were ya can change the speeds get some cutting compound do your whole car when applying the cut rub in a little harder were the marks /scratched and stuffed parts are then get a top polish and go over it again with a buff but now use a not so agressive buff pad so ya cut the whole car back now ya polished the car all over so ya got compound every were and ya missed spots and there is still swerl marks all through ya paint still it looks good now but not the best its black so its a little bugger 2 get that real deep gloss now high presher hose all the crap off and polish is by hand take ya time now take it off and get some finel inspection spray wipe the car looks good can't really see the defects in the paint thay are there but ya can't really pic it so it looks as good as ya gonna get it now
my spellings bad but ya get my drift
if you need me to have a good walk through the steps i can/ i do this every day paint rejuvination/ take it 2 a detailer and ask him how much it cost 2 fix it could be cheeper 4 him 2 touch it than you but i am here 2 help bro
No not everything is solved with a clay bar but it's a damn good start. If you put a buffing pad straight over the top of that, the pad will gum up after one pass of a small panel. Then all you're doing is compounding with debris and fallout all over the pad. Not a very smart move! The end result will only be as good as the amount of preparation you put into it. By skipping the clay bar you're making it harder for yourself in the long run
I strongly disagree. Dark coloured cars usually show the best results You may have to work a little harder at it but then end result is something you want to show off. Ever wondered why most 'polish' manufacturers use black and red cars in their advertising and packaging?

looks like you have a fair job on your hands... being an spray painter & having worked with cars like this, i'd suggest using 1500 Wet & Dry Sandpaper on the panel and then give it a cut and polish, this will bring away the damaged layes of clear and give u much better playing field to work with wen you buff it!
If you dont feel confident with paper please dont as you cant bring it back once u rub through the clear!! but in my opinion this would be the most effective method to get that the gleaming shine back
yeah im fairly confident with the sand paper. my mate is willing to help out as he has a buffer. was thinking of maybe washing it with water kerosene first to soften that shit up, then some sand paper, then cutting compound and lastly polish..
Hopeully that works.
But thanks for all the help guys.
I did a bit on the bonnet and its shiny as now. but the trunk is shiny but has the rain marks still.
Just to clarify, when you say rain marks, is it actually some sort of contamination or is it clear coat coming off?

its contamination. The paint itself still shines when you put a coat of wax on over it. But the contamination/oxidation gets left behind. However the clear on the car was originally thin.
Few hours of work with a polisher and cutting compound...
needs a bit more elbow grease then I shall whip the wax out
beauitiful
Looks really good now, thanks for the advice.
Thanks guys. Cant clear out the base of the paint but its definately shiney now! thanks for all the help
Nice work mate what products did you use.
Used a lambs wool polisher and kitten liquid cutting compound![]()
Finally took it out into the sun. Heres some more pics of the result
probably a bit dusty and dirty as I've just been working on it all week so yeah

Hard to tell if it's just the quality of the photos but it looks like you've got quite a bit of hazing left in the paint after applying the Kitten with a lambs wool pad. A lambs wool pad and cutting compound is only meant to be the first step of a few. You're going to need a finer cutting compound and soft foam pad to bring back the gloss.

Fair bit of hazing in some areas (the ones where the paint has already cracked) otherwise all good. I'm fine with how it is for now. Flying overseas next week so wont really enjoy how shiny it is till i get back anyway lol
How'd i end up in there?
Only milk and juice comes in 2 litres.
