Hey all, I bought a car cover today because my baby won't have a garage for a while, so I thought something to cover it up instead of baking in the sun and drenching in the rain would be good.
I got one for $30 at Super Cheap Auto, which I thought was pretty good, but reading the box, it says that you shouldn't leave it on for more than a week. Anyone know why? I can't think of a reason or a danger of leaving it on for more than a week?
the heat may connect the cover to the paint maybe? also moisture.. condensation etc.

The heap covers dont breath or keep water out well so any moisture that gets trapped underneath stays there against you car body and the cover, also be aware that wind will make it rub against your car and can mark it. The cheaper cover are semi ok for storing under cover, but I would buy a descent one for outside that has venting and is water/dust proof and has a soft scratch proof lining.
if u want a decent car cover that should prevent hail damage and dont care about cost google 'stormcover' they have covers with foam padding across the top and a heat reflecting surface (same stuff as surfboard covers are made out of) for around $180 and ones with padding all over for $500. yes its expensive but if u live in an area with wild weather it could be worth it
i got a car cover from auto barn, its storm proof, $150, cant remember the brand tho... has a ferrari on the box.
dont skimp on quality because it ur car gets moisture in there, with heat, it will stick to ur paint, or leave stains. u will do more damage than no cover.
Far out, all I wanted to do was protect my car from the sun and bird poop...now I could actually be hurting it!!!
all true,, 30 buck car (not one of those blue ones) cover in the elements will do more damage than good, had a autotecnica 200 bills with felt layer on onside on a car with breathers still damaged paint , dust gets in moves around in the wind,, not good..
I've heard bad stories about stains too.
ive seen the damage they do with moisture underneath and left out in the sun on a car, not cool when they take the paint off the bonnet and roof, that was a autobarn one half dear too it was, might off been alright if it wasnt damp though
Ive got one from super works alright it got two breathers in it, but i still get nervous when i hear a hail worning but.
