Default RockWell RS 4900 Polisher (SuperCheap)

    Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a polisher for my car. I haven't used a electric polisher before, but am interested in trying it, considering it takes me over an hour to polish my car by hand. Is the polisher mentioned worth getting? Or is it a complete waste of money? Can you get something decent for <$100 or would it be better to just do it by hand?

    Anything anyone would recommend?

Hey mate, i bought one from supercheap the 50 dollar one, its the base model, used it for the first time a week or so ago and it did ok, i cant compare it to anything esle becuase its the only one i have owned but it took my polish off and buffed it well, i was happy with the results. But you have to be careful with the higher powered ones so they dont burn your paint. I think they are all pretty much the same at autopro repco and autobarn just re-packaged and re-named. just went to the shed and its a RS 4500

Cheap polisher's will not have the power to correct any paint defects in modern clear coats. You do get what you pay for.

Anyone buying a 'buffer' to wipe on and wipe off AIO type products is going about it all the wrong way. That is not paint correction and the products are designed to be used by hand anyway. Over large surfaces the cheap machines will make application a little quicker but you will still need to apply by hand in the tight areas and pillars.

Have a read of this guide and watch the video at the end: Machine Polishing To Achieve Paint Correction // 17.09.2009 // How To // Car Care Products
