I'm interested to hear the best methods of application other people have come up with. My normal method (apply polish to panel, work in evenly with rotary buff, no water spray) seems to have failed me quite badly and I now have the unfortunate situation of leaving a white car overnight with dark coloured polish stuck on some of the roof etc. I have no doubt that this was an application error, however the dry buff method has usually worked for me in the past with the products I have used.
My initial thoughts were that nothing good would come of using a dark coloured polish on a white car... please don't tell me I was right
As it stands tomorrow I'd like to get the whole lot finished. The old girl hasn't had a polish in a while and needs to be looking her best for a couple of cruises this weekend
Any tips / info appreciated, I have worked polishes out through trial and error methods in the past, but that was on caryard cars and I don't like to do that on my caras the paint is 20 years old and getting I think a little fragile.

edit: upon further research, the product in question may in fact be totally wrong for the paint finish I am working on. I wasn't aware it was a breakdown abrasive type which needs quite a lot of working into the paint.. less than ideal for the squishy old paint layer on my VN!I hope I haven't thrown too many swirl marks through it, or at least that they can be covered by my next few steps - APO60, DG601, DG105, DG clean-n-shine.. time will tell I guess!

Menzerna Hi Cut 106FF can be used on any colour of car, so no worries there.
With regards to application then apply it to our foam pad and spread evenly across the small area you are working on. Then yes the Menzerna polishes contain diminishing abrasives which do need working all the way through to the polishing oils that remain.
The 106FF is made for Cerami-Clear Paint (late model euros in the main) so maybe the PO85U One Step and the PO91L might be better alternatives if working on older or Australian Paints.

Hope this helps,

Thanks mate, VooDoo on SC gave me the tip of lubricating the Menzerna abrasives with a little Quick Detailer as well, which I will try next time for sure. I actually ended up resorting to my old bottle of AG 03B using the rotary, followed by a T47 filler polish applied by hand, followed by the DG PBA and sealant I got from you. That sealant seems like top stuff, I am anxious to see how it holds up in the sun.
I will have another crack at the Menzerna gear over the Christmas period, on a friend's VR Senator, another white car so a little tricky to see what exactly is going on, but should produce great results if I can get it right (and if the heat in the shed isn't too much for the polishes to work under).
