Go to your local supermarket and hire one of those Britex wet vaccums. It'll cost you something like $25 for the day, plus the cleaning chemicals (which you keep for the next time you hire one). They do a great job, plus if you are organised you can clean your house carpets, lounges, etc with it too.

Thats the only way youre going to remove anything. Ive hired one twice for my car and they work wonders. Spraying some 'miracle cleaner' or some shite on it is really just adding more crap to the carpet IMO.

The guys are right, there are products that you can spray on, aggitate and wipe off but these are best for spot cleaning or small areas.

If you want to really deep down clean then either hire one of the extraction machines for the day and combine some good but careful cleaners such as Car Care Products / 303 Products / Interior / Carpet & Upholstery / Fabric & Vinyl Cleaner if the area is really bad / stained then pre-spray the cleaner and aggitate it with a soft scrub brush first then use the extraction machine.

It is best to go over the whole area twice to shampoo and then once with just the suction on to remove as much moisture as possible. Then leave the car in the sun with the windows down a few cms for a couple of hours to dry properly.

If your car does get a beating from the family, kids, dogs, work then after cleaning why not try some protection - it is not a 'miracle product' but will help to repel stains and dirt and generally keep it cleaner for longer - Car Care Products / 303 Products / Interior / Carpet & Upholstery / Fabric Guard Spray or Car Care Products / Nanolex / Interior / Carpet & Upholstery / Textile and Leather Sealant

Just want to reiterate what CCP said about leaving the windows open in the sun for a few hours. You really need to try it out thoroughly - unless you want to drive around with a mouldy wet-dog smell for a few months that is.

Try and clean it in the morning, on a warm day where you won't have to drive for the rest of the day, and preferably the next day too.
