whats the best wax for your car?
I use both P21S and Optimum OCW for my car. Both really good. Heaps better than the off the shelf autobarn crap.
Another vote for P21S here. Easy to apply and smells great. Carnaubas generally only last a month or so. If you want something longer wearing you might want to go for a synthetic sealant such as Zaino Z2 Pro. If you have a dark car such as black or blue, I'd recommend Swissvax Onyx.
Very open ended question. I am a firm believer that the polish is only as good as the prep work (polishing) If you chuck a good wax on a bad base it is still going to look crap. On to Waxes My Favorites. Then sealant are another queation.
1. DP Max wax. Great shine, Great to put on and take off and cheap. last about a month but hey I love waxing my car so no issues
2. Dodo Supernatural. Great shine, good to put on and take off higher priced. last 3-4 months
3. Collinite 476. Very Good shine not to user freindly, must apply very thin and take of after every panel, cheap price lasts for 12 months with 3 coats
Whilst I agree with what you're saying in general, I don't think it is going to look any more crap than what it would without the wax. Polishing is for shine, wax is for protection. So when someone simply asks for a good wax I'll assume he's more interested in protection rather than shine. If you want to educate everybody here that asks that very same question, then be my guest!![]()
Ok on above if you just want protection chuck on Collinite 476 for $33 you will get 10 years out of a tinit is also car wash resistant in that it wont come off in with the chemicals they use.
some helpful tips....good on ya
Other option is to go for something a little longer lasting like a polymer.
Duragloss, Zaino, or Nanotechnology from Nanolex.. 6-24 months!

If you are asking for wax as to protect your paint, i'd suggest you try a descent sealant such as Meguiars Synthetic Sealant#21. It would last a bit more then a wax containing carnauba, plus its availble in most auto shops in Australia.
My second recomendadtion would be Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0.
Just some food for thought, next time you buy a mentos stick, in the ingredients just before made in china. It says it contains Carnauba wax.
I use Car-Lack 68 and will not use anything else!

I will say 'i concur' as that's all i can say politically lol.
I look at products based on a two main things;
1. the colour of your car
2. how much time you have
If you do not have much time other than being able to wash and give it a quick wipe over with some quick detailer here and there, than a polymer sealant for 6-8 months like Duragloss is great.
If you have less time and just want to wash/maintain and not keep on the whole wax/redo my car every few months idea, i would then say Wolfs Chemicals or Nanolex.
IF you do love doing your car, and waxed crazed as you have time to re apply every 2-3 months i would than say along the lines of Dodo Juice, Swissvax, Collinite, P21S etc..
