Default Unidentified stain on interior roof pillar

Just purchased a Monaro CV8 recently and in the process of tidying it up and making it look as new. Inside the door pillars rear shelf and headlining are covered with this black woven cloth type material. I am not sure if this material is also in the SS/Calais interiors, however there is a stain that I cannot identify and cannot remove. I have tried, Armor-all interior cleaner, dissol and kitten interior foam cleaner, using a toothbrush to get into the stain. I am on the verge to use something more aggressive such as "Prepsol", but am afraid I will cause damage. I have enclosed a photo for you all to see for you to comment and help me out. Thank you in anticipation.

This sounds strange, especially if you have tried interior cleaners and a toothbrush to agitate it?

Without seeing the pattern of the stains or being able to feel them (sorry that sounds gross but it gives you clues what it could be) I could not say for sure - one thought might be that this could even be a spray adhesive or something that has been used to re-affix the lining fabric onto the roof/pillars if it has come away?!?

I would not go Prepsol quite yet as this will have a good chance of dislodging the adhesive holding the fabric onto it's backing and then it will start to come away.

If you had not tried a number of interior cleaners etc then I would have said try the 303 Fabric cleaner as it is power yet safe. But as you have I would try something from home first - perhaps some of that Stain Remover Spray that you use for laundry - spray on, scrub lightly, leave for a couple of minutes and then go over with a damp microfibre cloth to remove any dirty residue. Those stain removers are pretty strong, if that does not do the job then let me know and I'll try again.

We see a lot of 'stains' in the detailing game and if the owner knows what they are then it helps as we have differing specialist products to combat them; red wine, coffee, coke etc...

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your advice. I will give it a go and might even try "Sard Wonder Soap". The 303 fabric cleaner sounds like a worthwhile purchase, as I have read positive remarks about this product.

Could be a very good thing that you can't identify that stain. Some thing's you just do not want to know....
