Thinking of removing a vinyl I have on the side of my car, on it's paint so I can't use anything too harsh, what should I use to get rid of any residue? the sticker has been on for about 8 months.
And would a blow dryer work best?
If it was a good 5 or 7 year vinyl, it should come off without leaving any residue.

start taking it off, if it looks like it's going to be difficult, then use a hairdryer or heat gun. BUT.............
Don't put heat on it for too long or too close to the paint work either, and you will be fine.

If it has only been on for 8 months then it should be fairly easy to remove, I would go with the Hair dryer option (not as fearce as a Heat Gun) warm gently and the peel back slowly into the 'middle' of the pieces. If there is any adhesive residue left then try something like AG Intensive Tar Remover wipe it over lightly and like it work for 5 minutes before wiping off and washing the car. Then remember to re-wax the area for ongoing protection.
