Hi.... basically my dear mother in all her wisdom has polished her car with Gumption kitchen cleaner (good at cleaning baths... not so much galaxy blue 1998 AU falcon's). It now has nice scratches and weird impressions in the paint... what would a cheap(ish) fix be without professional paint correction... Im thinking washing it well then a full polish with a decent polish, then a decent wax? What chemicals would be recommended....
edit- the gumption was used to get bird droppings off the bonnet and 'clean up' after a colision with a painted white weatherboard house to get the white paint off the car.... *sigh*
It was a while ago and i was like WTF why are all these blemishes in your paint.... after some questioning i found out the truth....
Do you have any pictures you may be able to post. May help us with some pointers for you my friend. Goodluck too!
It sounds like it needs some love with a machine so if you are looking to do it properly then DAS6 Polisher Kit will set you up for good. Otherwise if you are looking for the best improvement by hand possible I would try Duragloss Pre-cleaner combined with Lake Country Applicator then follow with some protection - wax or a sealant, if you want something long lasting for a good price then Duragloss TPP is a great product that lasts well.

Thanks for the advice... just another quick question what's a product (polish & a wax) you would recommend on paint in relatively good condition, ie. my 05 SV6 Impulse Blue, my bottle of Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine is getting low....
The Duragloss TPP 105 is a great Sealant if you are looking for ongoing protection. If the paint needs a little 'lift' in gloss you can use the Pre-Cleaner before as well, the only difference is I would use a lighter pad like Polishing Applicator So the same combo can be used - before using these (or any polish) I would always recommend a clay though, to remove contamination.
