    Fast !!!

Bird and Bat droppings have the same pH as battery acid and I'm sure you would not feel happy leaving that on your paint. Droppings can eat through your clear coat within 24 hours.

So once you see something, take it off. Some guys like to keep a bottle of Mint Detail and soft microfibre cloth in the car, so they can spray and gently wipe off. Others like the new Bird Dropping Wipes and again keep some in the glovebox.

However if you have got some bird droppings 'stuck' on your paint firstly try to rinse off with a hose or pressure cleaner, if not then try to wash off and if it still does not budge - do not be tepted to rub or scrape off. Take an old towel and soak in your car wash solution and place over the droppings, leave to soak while you wash other sections of the car. This should soften and lift so they can be rinsed or lightly washed off.

If the droppings have been removed and there is an etching stain, or 'crazing' in the paint - you are looking at polishing, probably by machine or even a light wet sand depending on how deep they have gone.

The better the wax or sealant on your car, the more protection you have from contamination like this, but I have seen bird droppings completely eat through the clear coat and paint of a new car within 7 days, only solution - respray!
