    Default Washing, Polishing Stages

    Hi all,

I wash the cars every week and want to improve the finish on the paintwork.

Every week I wash the 2 - 3 cars with Meguiars Soft Wash Gel.
Then, Out of the 3 cars, I clay bar 1 and wipe it down.
I then proceed to polish the car with Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

My main problem is that after a week or so, random white polish marks appear and the shine is lost.

If I follow this 3 stage process, what products would you recommend, that will leave a nice finish for atleast 2-3 weeks?

The main colours of the cars range from Subaru Sky Blue, Holden Black, Mazda Black, Maloo Red and BMW Black.

In the realm of waxes, is there any waxes that are relative simple to apply by hand as I don't trust myself using a buffer?

    Thanks, Chris

Collinite 467s or 915 will probably last nearly a year, check it out on utube and notice the harsher conditions with the snow than us, they seem to be very happy with the wax sealant, I have used 467s and am very happy with it and now I am waiting for the Collinite 915 which seems to have a deeper shine.

my suggestion would be to go along to one of mikes detailing clinics where you will learn how to use a random orbital polisher, its almost dummy proof. after that you will be able to correct the damage to the paint work. in doing this you will have a shine like never before.

as for the lsp (last step protection) get some duragloss 601 (bonding agent) and 105 (total performance polish). this is a really good sealant even if the name says its a polish. this can be applied by hand, wipe on 601 over the whole car, then do the same for 105. let it haze over then buff off with mf cloth. use this on all the colours or get some dodo juice orange crush wax to use on the maloo (designed for warm colours).

these waxes/sealants will last much much longer then srp will. also to add to the list is duragloss aquawax. use this with every wash when drying. simply wash car, rinse off, spray few squirts per panel then dry it like normal. this lasts a few weeks and will only add to the protection.

doing this you should be able to wash, clay, polish and seal a car per weekend then not have to worry about polishing and claying for a few months and you should be able to get all 5 cars washed very easily in a few hours

Any wax can be applied by hand. And my preference is by hand rather than machine.

When it comes to wax i agree. however when working swirlds and scratches out, a machine makes life so much easier
