hi.
on LS1 forums the car detail guy was saying that its good to wash your car with johnson and johnson baby shampoo because it has a neutral ph.
what are your views ?
I think it probably wont do any harm but also I doubt its going to remove much dirt and grime.
Yeah wtf?
Baby shampoo is made for washing milk vomit out of soft baby hair, not baked on bugs off steel...
Use proper car washing detergent or even dish washing liquid... Might have half a chance.
I use that next gen car wash, and it seems to work well at getting the crap off without taking the wax off, also used gold class car wash which was pretty good aswell
I'm pretty sure a bottle of Johnsons Baby Shampoo would cost more than a cheap bottle of ArmourAll car wash concentrate.

It's just a car......wash the ####ing thing with car wash.....
FFS...
There's plenty of reputable pH neutral car wash on the market so I don't know why you'd want to use baby shampoo. Do any professional car detailers use it? Nope. 6 year old thread too.....
LOL, I can't see thread...
But a 6yr old thread dig from ANOTHER forum, Steeve should be banned for that.
most carwashs are based on formula of green dishwashing fluid, thats a good old trick that one~!
baby wash is ph nutral.... so paint is sealed and doesnt absorb liquids anyway so make no difference
and when you polish your actually sanding it, so it doesnt REALLY absorb anything then either
some people just need a girlfriend i reckon!~ much better use of baby oils there![]()
If it was a short thread/post I'd copy it here but the plonker wrote out an encyclopedia on how to wash a car. It'll take a cut lunch and a pint of milk to get through it. The fool was banned from the forum shortly after for continuously breaching forum T&Cs and continual harrassment.
ahh, one of them...
dishwashing liguid is a big nono its got salt in it the last thing you want to wash your car with LOL
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
Depends on the liquid. I've never had a drama with it/.
You clearly know nothing about car care. Detergents will strip any waxes or sealants off quick smart! And no car shampoo is going to remove baked on bugs. Being PH neutral is pretty important to the integrity of your LSP. That write up on the LS1 forums is actually pretty good as well.
Thread is a sticky so he didn't dig it up either!
yeah i was planning to say it myself but thread was a sticky at the top of the car care section.
i read the entire thing
You come out here and wash the bugs off my car without detergent. If you can i'll give you $50.
I wash bugs off my car without detergent. Any decent detailer will as well.
I've got a garden hose and a bucket your welcome to use. Car is in the drive.
And no detailer I've ever seen uses just water and a sponge.
They just wax and polish afterwards.
I don't use a sponge either, microfibre wash mitt is much safer for your paint. Waterless car wash will never be as good as the real thing either. Maybe you should go visit a GOOD detailer.
No, I'm not about to pay someone money to wash my car...
BTW, I'm a spray painter. I know how the paint reacts to things. What your dribbling on about may have been accurate in 1962. But its not now.
Just think of the babys with smelly hair!!!! Use the proper stuff FFS
