Default Anyone ever used Turtle Wax Color Cure Plus?

Now i know the only way to get rid of deep scratches is to repaint the panel.

However, this is not an option at times. I have a deep scratch on my bonnet. About 5cm long and down to the metal. I aint gonna friggen pay $1000 to have the bonnet and 2 front quarter panels sanded and re-painted. Besides, my VS Commodore isn't even worth $1000 but the paint on my car is still pretty good! After a wash and polish its amazing how well the paint has kept.

Annyyyway. Turtle Wax make some product that comes with a little lipstick device that you "draw" into the scratch and buff to a shine once dry/hard.

"Colour Cure Plus comes with a Chip Stick, a carnauba wax based colour stick, to fill in deep scratches & chips. Simply use the colour closest to your car's colour to help restore car to a like new look."

Has anyone ever used this product? Ever had any success? I think im gonna try it. If anyone is interested, i'd be happy to post before and after pictures.

Don't waste your $$$, useless stuff, might as well use a kiddies wax crayon to do the same thing. You're better off getting a can of touch up paint & build up the scratch layer by layer. A bit more time consuming but far superior results.

I'm assuming your paint is metallic? Use a brush touch up for colour then fill with clear. Once it has cured, wet sand with some 2000 grit and polish to a nice finish.

you can use nail polish if you can find a colour match. gives a good shine as well if you have a steady hand when you do it. its thick enough to fill in the scratch which normal paint wont do.

Would be the best option, followed by some maching to smoothen out any of the scratches from the sand paper.

You can go to any paint shop and request some colour to be matched and they can give you a small bottle of it for usually around $5-15 for the exact colour. Also some paint shops do offer a service that will repair the scratch however not all..

    Ok thanks fellas.

Yes it is metallic. I have some touch up paint. I will fill the scratch with the paint then fill with clear.

I'll get some 2000 grit sandpaper from Autobarn and give it a shot.
