would you recommend an oral b tooth brush as well??
Nah ill give it a try next weekend... not colgate tho that shit is not cheap...
WD40 does wonders too you know - mr sheen does wonders on chrome rims.
Yeah Window Cleaner I found did wonders on polished rims.
Toothpaste is just an abrasive (with extra teeth related stuff like fluoride), so it'll just work like JIF and other abrasive cleaners. Probably not a good idea to use it regularly because you will wear the paint thin.
Duragloss Non Acid Based Cleaner is probably the best bet to use. And much cheaper than toothpaste, and more logical as well![]()

I just wash mine with Amorall wash and wax which I wash the car with and they come up trumps.
gumption works good to hey
My Vs " Liberator 1" =)
Side note : A V8 doesn't kill, the ######## driver who cant handle one does
LOL!
Take the wheels off the car, wash them with your normal car wash and then polish and wax them. they'll come up trumps with a wash everytime. sure it takes some time but will also save the tar/road grime etc sticking to the rims and discolouring them over time. I do it at least once every 2 months.
I use the Duragloss wheel cleaner linked by CarCare, works a treat and easily takes care of brake dust.
I'm with Scruba wash and polish, may take longer but over time you can tell quality
for me it depends of the way the wheel is finished. for painted i use acid, bare alloy i use apc, chrome i use acid and all bring them up great. for really embeded brake dust and grime wash them to remove all the loose stuff then give them a go with wolfs decon gel from car care products
Sonar full effect wheel cleaner. Spray on, wait till it turns pink and hose off. That easy, even on brake dust caked on. Cleans the crap off your rotors and calipers at the same time too.
Wolf's Brake Duster (Deironizer) is probably the best carbon (brake dust), rail dust remover for wheels right now around.
Have a look

Looks and acts remarkably like Sonax. Could this be a rebranded product?
If so I'll have some with my next order as it's cheaper than Sonax.
Definitely not a rebranded product. Wolf's have been around for quite a long time just not in Australia like many other products.
Could be similar products in the market, however this one is definitely unique to Wolf's as others contain a strong toxic scent or are acid based where this is not.

I just bought some VZ Calais wheels and there is a small bit of marring on the face of one or two wheels which I'd like to get out. A mate of mine recommended a very light cutting compound to polish them up a bit but I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do in addition to this. I'm thinking I'll give the Wolf's product a go as a regular cleaner but I'd first like to get them looking new again. I can post pictures tomorrow if needed.
