havnt buffed it at all, just used a fine cut and polish on a section and came up pretty good but want a good product to use by hand. The one i used was a old cheap one. and only lasted about a week then faded again

Wash it and then clay it - that will remove contaminants and the rough feeling. Then try cutting and then sealing

You're not going to bring up faded paint with a hand polish. Take it to a professional.

That would be a good way to deal with the faded paint. I'll add in that it would be necessary for him to polish after the cutting process, to smoothen out the surface and achieve the shine. Am I right there?

To OP: If you have all the necessary equipment (RO polisher etc), you've probably found yourself a cost-effective way of restoring your paint.

I use the meguiars wax and polish it by hand. Cleaned up the oxidized paint on my red vy. Looks like new just top it up every few weeks to keep it protected now.

Try not to cut it. The cutting compound isnt good for the clear coat
