Hi there my names matt and I have a Holden vs ute which a few of you may have seen before on this site, the colour is botanica mica and was immaculate till this last weekend when I went riding and took the ute, the problem is to try avoid getting bogged a scraped along this bush and it has scratched the metallic paint work. I'm going to give it a go with some paint cleaner and a light cut/polish and then see how bad it is but i know it's not going to be good.
My main question is will I need to organize a full side of the car to be resprayed or can they sort of match specific areas as I can feel a few of the scratches with my nail.
Well i have a good update, it seems i underestimated metallic colour a bit, most of the scratches seemed to have been improved by at least 90% on what they were, ended up washing it, claybarring it, paint cleaner, swirl remover and some wax.
Im not sure if the above removed or improved the scratches or just filled them but either way it looks good enough to not need a respray, hopefully it will stay that way from now on.
Nvm the thread now.
Matt.
Going on what u posted I would say u use the meguiars deep crystal 3 step process? If so then most of the marks will of been hidden with fillers. Best bet would be to call mike or Pierre at car care products n get them to send you a das6 polisher kit so you can permanently remove the marks if not too deep. Basicly if you can catch your finger nail on the scratch it's too deep to remove but you may still make it less visible.
