Question Best wash, wax & polish you have used?

HI guys, just wondering what has been the best wash, wax & polish you have used?

I generally stick to meguiars products with mine, seems to do the job well.
Just wondering what you all use!
Also, what has been the WORST product used on your car?

That's a pretty broad question mate.

What are you trying to do? Wash, Correct, Seal..
There is so many brands with so many products.
I tend to stay away from mainstream products. Megs contains a lot of "cover up" shit in their products which only masks the bad finish.

    true true.

Just basically clean, protect and make the paintwork absolutely gleam, have that wet look but still at the same time not hurting the paint in any way

I remember using the ultimate wash n wax n that was absolutely HORRIBLE stuff. Gold class seems to work well though but im not entirely convinced thats the best car wash out there.

As far as polish goes, its the same deal with the polish im using at the moment, the meguiars deep crystal polish.
But again, seems to work ok, i just think that theres better out there and would like the opinions and views of some users on what they use.

i use meguairs nxt gen wash and its really good, i use the nxt gen wax as well.

i find the deep crystal polish is alright as long as your paint is in good condition, is time consuming though

If it isnt tuckin, it must be suckin

Menzerna. Best paint correction I've used and their sealant has a great gloss to it especially dark colours. I don't buy anything over the counter since I found CCP!

cause the way i see things is why change if your not having problems cause when u start to change your asking for problems =D

Not really. What's your favourite wash, favourite polish and finally what's your favourite wax?

Hope you're not referring to their APO sealing wax.

    My favourites are:

    Wash: FI PPBS
    Wax: P21S 100
    Sealant: FI Seal
Polishes: Menzerna, I have PO91L, PO106FF, PO 85RD, PO106FF and 203S. The PO91L is a good one step but I prefer to do a two stage polish with 203S followed by 85RD!

    He said "Best" not "Favourite"..

I do agree with your list though. Except I used CAP, only because I haven't used the others yet.

Oh well. List what you think is best. Tried CAP when it first came out but prefer Menz.

best wash: dodo juice supernatural. its super concentrated so use bugger all per wash

    best polish: menzerna fg500 + po85rd3.02 + po85u + po106ff + po85rd. meguiars m105 + m205 (both very expensive but worth it). i do have menzerna po203s, po91l but prefer the 3.02 and have pos34a but hardly ever need it.

best wax: dodo juice supernatural, purple haze or orange crush

best sealant: few here, duragloss 601 bonding agent with either 111 or 105, nanolex gear or wolfs body wrap.

    Wash: Meguiar's Gold Class.
Wax: Meguiar's Gold class liquid wax.

Polish: None. Should I? The paint is pretty shiny after five years of three monthly waxing.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'

basicly, think of it as a synthetic wax. its used to provide a long lasting layer of protection for your paint. a wax can last between a week to 4 months depending on the quality of it where as a sealant can last anywhere between 6 months and 3 years, again depending on the quality of the product used. sealants are what car yards pass off as paint protection for severly inflaited prices. looks wise a wax will help make the paint look deep and rich where a sealant is really shiney, kind of like its wrapped in shiney glad wrap

Same as the above quote, I have had my VX SS from new and always used Meguairs, started off with the Gold Class both the wash and the wax, then moved onto the NXT Wash and the NXT Wax, and found the NXT stuff to be very good. The paint on my 10 year old VX is as good as a new car. Just and observation but I think the Gold Class may have a very slight amount of polish in it, I have noticed that if there is a small mark that the NXT won't remove a dab of Gold Class usually gets it off. Value for money for an every day road car the NXT range is good value.

i use bowden's own auto body gel - i find it the best wash out of all the products ive used.

for polish i use autoglym super resin polish

was i use zymol carbon wax

and to keep it clean i use bowden's body detail.

and before all of this i used a bowdens clay bar.

I used to know a guy who owned a show winning FJ.
It was immaculate and had literally about 12 layers of paint and lacquer on it.
Once he'd washed and chamoid(?) it, all he used to use was, believe it not, good old Mr Sheen furniture spray!
Yes you read that right, Mr Sheen!!!
Made it as shiny as, and was easy as to wipe any dust off that may have came to rest on it where ever he parked it.
You have to do it in sections tho, ie top of the gaurd then bottom of the gaurd, doors, etc, and wipe thoroughly to make sure you get it all off before it dries. No stress tho if it does dry a bit, just respray and wipe it off again. Too easy...
It lasts a couple or more washes and the water just beads off.
It really is unbelievable, and makes your car feel like it has new paint. And it's cheap!!
Give it a try and get back to me.

Wouldn't agree with you on megs masking .. If the job was done properly, no masking needed at all.
Poor job full of swirls and shallow scratches requires masking, proper job none!

No sealant can last 3 years even if a car is kept in a garage.

The period of protection depends on factors such as climate, temperature, if a car is garaged or not, exposure to numerous elements in the air (acid rains ..) , etc. no particular brand of sealant can offer 3 years of protection .... Maybe 3-4 months, but not 3 years for sure.

Seriously, would you stop trolling this section? If guys of their professionalism says that the sealant will last 6 months to 3 years, then we'll believe them. We won't believe you; a cynical twat that feels the need to prove them wrong about it in every thread.

Not at all, just don,t believe that a sealant may last 3 years. Maybe 3 months ...

.. no one in the world of car detailing knowledge (even the basic one) would agree with that.

I have also noted a number of ideas that are simply incorrect or very far from the reality.

Should I just disapear and live the things as they are here?

dude ever heard of nanolex professional, cquarts, opticoat?? all sealants that last!! maybe do some more research before posting next time. you are correct about the variables regarding the life span of a polymer based sealant but there are some great long lasting nanotechnology products out there
